How to Install a Grohe Aquatower

Friedrich Grohe AG & Co. KG, more commonly referred to as Grohe, was founded in 1911 as a manufacturer and distributor of sanitary fittings, including kitchen and bathroom faucets, as well as shower systems. One of the lines of shower systems offered by Grohe is the Aquatower, a freestanding system designed to integrate seamlessly with existing bathroom plumbing systems. The Aquatower requires only mounting and connection to the hot and cold water lines in your bathroom and can be installed without specialized training.

Instructions

Shut off the main water valve to your house and flush your pipes thoroughly.

Remove the existing shower system hardware, such as faucets and panels, to expose the stud and water lines behind them. Most hardware can be removed with a screwdriver or Allen wrench. If your shower's wall is composed of tiles or fiberglass panels that need to be removed to expose the stud, use a flat pry bar.

Locate the stud in the surface where you will be installing the Aquatower and place the included mounting plug against it. Screw the plug securely into place.

Connect the hot and cold water supplies to the S-union in the back of the Aquatower.

Secure the Aquatower in place at the top and bottom using the included washers and nuts.

Install the upper and middle covers where indicated on the front of the mounted Aquatower. Screw in and tighten the included fixing rings using your Allen wrench.

Attach the included rosettes to the side showers with the Allen wrench.

Install the lower cover where indicated on the front of the Aquatower and screw it into place.

Install the enclosed union nipple where indicated on the top cover of the Aquatower and secure it into place with the Allen wrench.

Attach the spray hose where indicated on the union nipple and insert the handspray into the holder provided on the top cover.

Remove your existing overhead spray and screw the included one in its place to complete your Aquatower installations. No connections to the water lines will need to be made for the overhead spray.

Replace any tiles or fiberglass panels you may have removed to expose the stud.

Turn the main water valve to your house back on.
