Directions for the Alexis High Efficiency Dual Flush Toilet in a Box

The Alexis high efficiency dual flush toilet in a box is manufactured by Quality Craft, and features an elongated two-piece design with a slow-close seat. The components of the toilet, which include bowl, tank, seat, seal, bolt covers, fastening accessories and stainless steel supply line provide almost everything you need to install the toilet. Installation can be done without a plumber as long as your flange and drain are already in place.

Instructions

Ensure that the edge of your floor flange is slightly above the surface of your floor. If it is below the floor surface, put the outlet seal provided with your Alexis toilet over the flange.

Turn the bowl upside down and center the wax side of the outlet seal over the bowl outlet. Press down firmly all the way around the seal.

Insert the floor flange bolts provided with your toilet in the floor flange.

Turn the bowl right-side-up and lower it over the flange so that the bolts slide through the mounting holes at the base of the bowl.

Push down on the toilet bowl so that the base touches the floor, but dont push so hard that you damage the bottom of the bowl.

Make sure the toilet is level. If it is not, put shims, which you can find at most hardware stores, beneath the bowl to stabilize and level the toilet.

Slip a flange cap base over each flange bolt, followed by the flange bolt washers and then the disk nuts.

Turn each floor flange nut a couple of turns alternately until they are both snug.

Put a bolt cap over each flange bolt so that it snaps onto the base.

Flip the toilet tank so that the bottom is facing up and install the tank gasket over the threads of the flush valve. The gasket must cover the valves nut.

Turn the tank over and lift it over the back of the toilet bowl. Line up the mounting holes on the tank with the mounting holes on the top of the bowl and set it down gently.

Insert the tank bolts provided into the holes and install the rubber washers provided over the bolts inside the tank.

Install the metal washers provided over the bolts beneath the tank and bowl and then slip a nut over each bolts.

Tighten the nuts alternately by turning each a couple of turns until the bottom of the tank just about touches the ribs on the top of the bowl. You may have to push down on the inside bottom of the tank as you tighten.

Insert the dual flush button mechanism through the opening in the top of the tank lid. Turn the button when installing so that the smaller button is on your left.

Tighten the nut so that the button is firmly in place. Lift the lid over the tank and ensure the bottom of each push rod is flush with the top of each valve cylinder. If it's not, adjust the length using the adjustment nut on each push rod.

Connect the water supply line to the supply line connection of the fill valve and hand-tighten it until it is snug.

Open the water supply valve and allow the tank to fill. Check for leaks at the water supply connection and tighten if necessary. Press the flush buttons on the lid when the tank is full to test.
